A local film company brought this beauty in for us to fix up. We decided to do a little research as there was no doubt in our minds that despite it being in great condition this bike was ‘vrek’ old.
Turns out it is a Ladies British Loop frame circa. 1900 – 1920 (!) in the exact same frame design as Triumph, Raleigh, Humber, Phillips.
These are the things that make it unique:
Chrome fork detail
Vintage Czechoslovakian ‘Favorit’ coaster back brake
Fully encased chaincase – old Raleigh roadsters had ones with a full plate on the front too which was Raleigh branded with cool artwork
Front tyre brake system – mostly found on Triumphs
Such a priviledge to be visited by this piece of history!
Hi Justin,
Thank you for your query. You have done some thorough research already! We will reply via email should we have any further info on this for you. As far as I recall I think we might have found the info we did online and possibly also spoke to Ron Thompson, a walking/cycling en-cycle-opedia.
All the best!
Hi,
I’m just starting to restore a bike very similar to this one. It is a loop frame very similar to this and has a favorit coaster brake. I’m curious as to how you found out it’s origins and if you have any other details. My bike and the information I currently have is here: https://bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/50070/help-identify-this-loop-frame-bike
Really appreciate any help!
